This is a top-10 list that I generated from a spreadsheet that combines Fangraphs and Statcast stats. All hitters with at least 200 plate appearances last year sorted by AHS, average hit speed, aka Exit Velo.

An impressive bunch of hitters for sure.

It becomes more interesting when we compare this list to the top 10 line drive percents last year, which are shown on Kevan Smith's page.

The perfect guy to get if you're trashing batting average, which I'm seriously thinking of doing this year.

The Tooners trashed batting average in the ADL -- they always do -- and on the last day of the season they squeaked past me in batting average to win the pennant by 1 1/2 points.

I had people like Mookie Betts $36 and J.D. Martinez $29.

They had people like Christian Vazquez $1 and Yoan Moncada $19.

Thanks to Yordan Alvarez, I almost caught them in the power cats.

But I didn't and now I'm tempted to do what they do -- every goddam year -- and trash batting average.

It's going to be hard, because I love hitters who can hit, but Betts and Martinez are both at the end of their contracts.

They'll cost even more.
