They are trying to win and he's not one of their top four OFs. He essentially was going to be their 10th inning runner. He's not even a part of their Top Defensive outfield which is Renfroe -- Mitchell -- Taylor. They are giving a rookie OF PT, it's just Garrett Mitchell.

Why doesn't this guy get a shot??  Really Brewers, you send him back down after only 8 ABs??  Baffles me.

We both like Ruiz a lot ... probably too much ... Brewers sent him down?  Bummer :-(  But probably a good reflection of tempered reality ...

Padres didn't play him, and Brewers just sent him down.  Neither team is exactly loaded in the outfield.  LynchMob and Seadogs provide excellent reports on Padres and Brewers.....guys?

Does the Hader trade mean more playing time for Esteury.  He's been a disappointment so far for the amount of FAAB money I spent.

Spent big on him in 2 of 3 leagues. I don't care about the power but would love to see .260 and a bunch of SBs.

Esteury Ruiz has now amassed 17 stolen bases at Triple-A El Paso in only 86 at-bats. That brings him to 57 total thefts on the season. Here's a little perspective on how amazing that truly is. Texas is currently leading MLB with 62 total stolen bases. Miami is currently second with 61 and St. Louis is third overall with 57 stolen bases. 27 MLB teams have stolen fewer bases than Esteury Ruiz.

Rotoworld:

06.17: Padres OF prospect Esteury Ruiz went 3-for-3 and stole two bases on Thursday for Triple-A El Paso.  (The sensational season continues. Ruiz has now stolen nine bases in as many games since being promoted to Triple-A, and during that time, he's
slashing .514/.614/.914 with four homers in 35 at-bats. On the year,
Ruiz is now hitting .344/.474/.611 with nine homers and an incredible 46
stolen bases over 58 games combined with his time at Double-A Amarillo.)

Seems like he has to have been a permanent fixture this year on the "Prospect Hot Sheet" ... this kid is ON FIRE ... now at AAA ... .363/.489/1.145 for the season so far (AA + AAA).
