I actually claimed him on Monday. Not for the W, for the qualitatives. Have to move the chains to land in the money, punting won't cut it. Instead was sacked for a 5-yard loss.

Boolah, boolah.

Gets staked to a 13-0 lead after 4 and can't get the W despite not giving up a run because he doesn't go 5. Enter Paul Clemens to reap the rewards even while allowing 5 runs(all earned) in 4 innings.

Possibly the cheapest win for a pitcher in the history of the game.

I have him in CBS AL. Didn't buy a closer, but I get to spend at least one day in first in saves...

I assume his save tonight starts a FAAB frenzy :-)

One thing is certain - if he pitches well in April/May, he's shipped elsewhere for prospects. Which would only help his value the rest of the way.

From Callis to Glassey, all ten BA writers peering into the crystal ball for Baseball America's major league preview issue pick the Astros to get the first pick in the 2014 draft.

Five pick the Marlins to have the second pick, four pick the Twins, and one picks the Rockies.

The only other teams who are predicted to have one of the first three draft picks in 2014 are the Mets and Cubs.

It would seem the crystal ball more clearly reveals who the worst teams are going to be than the best.

Luhnow, the GM of the Astros, said there is a "strong chance" he is in the rotation.

The only scenario where he isn't in the rotation is if his arm is so tired this spring it never wakes up.

Signed a minor league contract with the Astros today. There's actually a fairly strong similarity score between 2012 and 2011. A few fewer hits, a few fewer walks... He's going to camp with the right team.
