Hopefully it also begins for Brad Lincoln. 4 Ks in 3 innings in relief of Bedard. Now sporting a tidy 0.63 ERA with 16 Ks in 14 innings. Pick him up now before it's too late.

With his first inning, and then the Cards loading the bases with Holliday coming up in the 2nd, it looked like a repeat of yesterday was coming.

Give Bedard some major credit for stemming the tide. 11 K's in 5 IP will help when everything your opponent hits seems to be finding a hole.

11 more K's today giving him 27 K's in his last 17 IP. Too bad his high pitch counts have prevented him from going deeper in games.

I bought him for $10 (48% inflation) in my home league yesterday. What I dig even more is that if you take out Bedard's first four starts, when he was still working his way into shape:

110 2/3 IP, 92 H, 37 BB, 36 ER, 108 K, 2.93 ERA, 1.166 ERA $13

And now he gets to face the pitcher instead of the DH, and the sorry Astros and sorry Cubs in his own division.

He went for $7 in Tout Alex.

Texpope prevailed upon Peter to fork out another $2 in the latest update. Mike held his ground. For unremembered reasons, I docked Bedard a dollar. The current menu in the software of possible bid limits (including actual prices in CBS and LABR): 5, 4, 3, 3, 9.

The nine, I imagine, is a caution about saving your money when others are doing likewise.

Or do you think we have two LABRites lurking here? Maybe.
