Roster Resource has Thames as the first baseman, batting seventh. Seth Brown is in left, batting cleanup. Jed Lowrie is the DH, batting fifth. McKinney and Kelly are in Triple A. Not now but expected to be.

FWIW, based on ST stats Thames is outperforming Brown, McKinney, and Kelly.

No projection for Thames? I suppose he's no shoe-in to make the A's.

I ran out of 1st basemen (and money!) in my AL-only draft yesterday and ended up with Thames. I also took Dalton Kelly in the reserve rounds.

Thames hopes to return to the majors and wants to"play in front of my family," according to Matt Kawahara of The San Francisco Chronicle.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Thames, the 33-year-old lefty slugger from San Jose, CA, has set a goal to return to the majors. He last played in the majors back in 2020 with the Nationals, where he hit three home runs with a .203 batting average in 140 plate appearances. If he makes the major league roster, Thames will serve in a platoon role given the .824 OPS against righties and .650 OPS against lefties in his career.
