Of course, I owned him in 2006. Damn it.

That being said, I don't know why you wouldn't comfortably go to $14-15 or so.

Forgot that Tout Wars was happening this weekend.

One of these years I'll get up there and perhaps even cover it live. The year when it's on Easter weekend isn't going to be that year.

I'm pretty sure he went for more in CBS. He's not on my team, and I would have definitely paid $13 for him.

Love McGowan.

I should have added that McGowan went for $17 in the Tout Wars and $12 at CBS

Marcum went for $6 in the Tout Wars and CBS has him at $9.

got to love an extreme groundball pitcher in the AL. the very definition of "post-hype."

$18 in the Sportsline expert auction. Did McGowan pour kitty litter in Mike Fenger's coffee?

Wow, the bid limits are all over the map here (does any other player has such discrepancies). Injuries are still a concern, as are his difficulties keeping the ball in the park vs lefites (12 HR is 80+ innings), but his 2nd half was rock solid. I'd be a bit closer to $15 than $20

Marcum is another interesting, high strikeout pitcher, good ratio pitcher on the Blue Jays. He doesn't have nearly the hype so he could go for half the cost. Fenger's $2 5x5 bid is wrong.

I think what we're both saying is that, Stage 3 being Stage 3, that there's no way McGowan goes for anything under $15 and, in some leagues, he might crack $20.

Glad I've got him locked in for $10...

I agree. Only thing not to like about McGowan is the salary he's going to command in leagues where he's not under contract. WHIP is much better than his ERA and his Rating is much better than his WHIP. Bill James Handbook puts his Component ERA at 3.06.

And that was last year.
