Domingo, you better beat the Mets on Sabado if you want to stay in the rotation. A,J. Cole is itching to take your place.

I am Heaney fan.  I got him for $1 his rookie year, kept him the next year, when he had only one start and missed the rest of the season with TJ surgery.  I picked him up last year during his rehab and dealt him for Matt Olson before Olson exploded.  This year I got him in the supplemental draft.  Wish I had grabbed Skaggs too. I have a similar history with Skaggs.

I sure would like to get lucky with German this year, maybe something like what Montgomery did for me last year.

With keepers Paxton and Berrios, closers Diaz and Shane Greene at 10 each, I decided to go big for a stud (paid $40 for Sale) and wait until the end game for 2-3 starters and 2-3 middle relievers to max at 85. I bought Fister and Heaney at a buck each, Jiminez and Oh at a buck each, then grabbed German, essentially for free, when he arrived quietly in NY April 8.

If Fister, Heaney, and German are nearly league average, I have great hopes.

He did look good. And the guy who came up with him, Cessa, looked even better on Saturday.

But, swayed by the Closer Monkey, I pushed Cessa down to my third pick on free waivers today, behind Casilla and Grimm and got Grimm.

Already I have free waivers remorse.

I am adding German to my roster today. Any chance he starts for CC? He sure looked good this spring.

Missed 2015 following TJ, and much of 2016 with an ulnar nerve issue. Spent time in 2017 making 19 starts in Double-A and Triple-A, with excellent results, but struggled with his control in seven relief appearances with the Yankees, mostly in June. There are concerns about his durability as a starter, suggesting he may work in relief in the majors, where his 97 mph heater is of the shut down variety. He has the tools for success, no matter what role he eventually earns, if he can stay healthy.
