An eyewitness in Boston writes:

Toronto catcher Jansen lines one in the left-center gap. Red Sox (and Nova) of Santana looks like he has a bead on the ball, but steps awkwardly and winds up sprawled on the grass and doesn't get up for a few minutes  Jansen pulls up about halfway to second and limps to the base. Both exit the game with injuries. That's what makes balls in play so exciting.

No longer a free agent, but a member of the BoSox.  In three games as at 1B and CF, he has two dingers and one SB.

Holding a showcase event on Thursday - I assume the focus will be on showing that his elbow reconstruction (not Tommy John - another procedure that's supposed to speed up healing) will be fine for the season.

Took him (and not Leandro) with my last reserve pick in CBS NL - because IF his elbow is healthy and IF he signs with an NL team and IF he makes their active roster he ends up earning at least $10.
