From Rotoworld:

06.25: Corbin Martin will be examined by doctors in Houston this week after injuring his elbow in a game at Triple-A Round Rock. (The
Astros are describing it as a potentially serious injury, although no
official diagnosis has yet been made. The top prospect made his major
league debut earlier this season. He went 1-1 with a 5.59 ERA in five
starts for the Astros before being sent back to Triple-A for further
development. He has a 3.13 ERA in eight starts and one relief appearance
in the minors this year.)

Same situation. I paid $27/100 for him.  I have only two reserve spots available, currently occupied by Matt Manning and Jose Suarez.  If Saurez comes back up it's easy.  If not, it's tough.  I could keep Martin reserved for another week, but I'm already not on pace to reach our 1,100 IP minimum.

I drank the Kool Aid. Now the question is do I reserve him? With a seven-player limit, including prospects, it's a tough call.

Local radio just reported that Tim is right, Valdez it is.  But not as an opener, at least as soon as he is stretched out. Nice to have such options.

If the Astros employ the opener, I suspect it will immediately be accepted as mainstream strategy.  Call it the Luhnow effect.

Framber Valdez is also an option I was reading. They could go to the opener ploy?

Just optioned to Round Rock.  Suspect either Josh James or, more likely, McHugh will take the rotation slot.  That pinpoint control I saw in his debut has eluded him since.

He does have a few things working in his favour. The Astros have a big lead in their Division and continue to win, even with the injuries. Round Rock doesn't have a slew of options that look MLB ready. Maybe they will give him one last opportunity this weekend against the Orioles?

Another poor outing last night. I'm guessing his last, at least for the next few months.

The least expected pitching line in his second start: 5 hits, 4 walks, no strikeouts over four innings. If he does that on his third he won't get a fourth.
