In the top of the sixth, "Strasbourg grounded out to right."

Such a shame Ryu didn't get his no-hitter.

Hit his tenth homer last night. The only player on the planet who's hotter than Yelich, but unlike Yelich he did not have a good spring training. Good contact when he made contact (four doubles and four homers among his 12 hits) but he hit .226 and struck out 16 times.

Well I am the defending champion and I do have some current stars under contract or on the cheap - T Turner ($20) Baez ($21) J Soto($10) Nimmo($1)  About $100+ in profit built in...Im thinking $20 of Bellinger for 3 years, at somewhat limited star power at 1B, is pretty good..I just dont think Cody has figured it out just yet...250-.260 BA..lots of K's..  Freeman is $35,Goldy $40 Rizzo $30

MarkA, my basic rule is I want at least $10 in profit each year that feels assured, before I agree to extend a contract. If you think Bellinger is close to a lock for $30 value each of three years (and you have to consider inflation), go for it.

However, that will cost you $10 bucks this year, and if $10 may be the difference in winning the title THIS year, then the heck with probable gains the next two years. That last issue is why there are few long-term contract extensions in my league, because the guy who has the cheap player is thinking championship now.

I have Bellinger $10 in NL Keeper League 5x5...Do I sign him to $15 for 2 years or $20 for 3 years.?  Power #'s 15 steals with .260's average...Will he be 35-90-90-15- kind of player next few years?League inflation 25%

$33 in the exuberant CBS and $36 in the usually far more restrained LABR.

Alex Gordon he's not. He pulls the ball far more often than Gordon (whose Pull% is 40), he hits the ball over the fence more often (about twice as often), and he is shifted against just as often (290 balls in play). And with all that, he beats the shift.

As the BIS scorers see it, he lost 11 hits hitting into the shift, gained 31 going the other way. It seems he cuts down his swing with two strikes.

And swings like hell the rest of the time.
