Add to the pinkie, his wrist. He apparently fractured it in a bike accident last weekend and is finished for the year.

Bad luck. Took a liner off his pitching hand today in the first inning.  At least his pinky was broken.

Chris Sale (P) BOS - Mar. 29
https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=11438

Sale (rib) is feeling much better and will start throwing early next week, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Sale came into camp nursing a stress fracture on the right side of his ribcage. He'll miss the start of the season but doesn't have a clear timetable for his return, with previous reports speculating that early May might be when he makes his season debut.

I'm dropping him to $10 in tomorrow's update. I didn't have him fully priced because of workload issues and the chance that he might not be his old self. The fact that he hasn't been throwing and won't be picking up a baseball for weeks, at least, has to be a worry.

I read somewhere that he won't be throwing for 3-to-4 weeks? I'm concerned that missing "some time" could turn out to be "significant time". A little bit more information and clarity would definitely help.

How much you bumping him down?

I wasn't in on Sale to begin with, but these prices are pretty conservative already...

Stress fracture in his rib. Will miss some time and not be ready for opening day.

The second starting pitcher nominated in LABR AL this weekend. Ninth player in Round 2. To Steve Gardner for $24.

If Steve wins this year, his first pitcher (he bought Jose Abreu earlier in the second round for $26) will be a big reason why. Likewise if he doesn't do well.
