Raise your hand if you're in a league where Mullins is available.

No one?

That's what I thought.

Let's hope (if you rostered Mullis last year) that he's jus not seeing the ball well; he's not overswinging.

Rotowire:

Drives in two runs
April 11, 2022
Mullins went 1-for-5 with two RBI in Monday's 2-0 win over Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
Mullins drove in two runs with a third-inning single off Adrian Houser and it was the only meaningful offense for either team all afternoon. However, he also struck out twice, bringing his total to nine through 16 at-bats to begin the season.

Prices for Mullins in the three demo leagues:

CBS $1

LABR $3

Tout Wars $1

All of these leagues drafted before the season started.

On Opening Day Mullins went 2-for-4. The next day, Saturday, he again went 2-for-4. All four hits singles. On Sunday he went nuts: 5-for-5 with three doubles.

Time to take Cedric Mullins seriously?

On Monday, April 5, he went 1-for-4. Another single.

On Tuesday, April 6, he went 1-for-4 (another single) and stole a base.

On Wednesday, April 7, he once again went 1-for-4, but this time the hit went over the fence.

On Thursday, Peter, Mike and I submitted our bids for the last update of the Projector for people drafting that weekend.

PK5 $7

MF5 $5

AP4 $8

It's fair to say we were starting to take Cedric Mullins seriously but still refused to take him very seriously.

We knew he was an overachiever but this much of an overachiever?

Statcast xBA: .269.

Statcast xSA: .440.

It will be interesting to see his ADP as we get close to the start of the season (whenever that -- never mind). He won't be available in any keeper leagues that acquire their players in auctions. Not one.

In 2019 he gave up batting right handed completely. He had previously been a switch hitter. I don't know if that was during or after the season. I also don't know what other adjustments he made in 2019, but it sure seems like one step back and then one and finally three steps forward.

Cedric's Statcast stats don't show the same dramatic improvement as Tyler O'Neill's, but they do show that he improved, and unlike O'Neill, he significantly cut his whiff rate.

What was he doing slashing .205/.272/..306 in 268 AB in Triple-A in 2019? A head-scratcher.

I see in the archive I had him at $8 in the final update. I'm pretty sure I had him at $6 in the last update before the season, because that's where I have him on the list that I took to my draft, which, except for a few inflation adjustments at the top of each position, was unchanged from the second to last update that we posted here.

On Sunday, while we were drafting, he went 5-for-5 with three doubles. You would think that would have impelled me to raise his price more than $2 for the final update (the following Thursday), but apparently not.
