Carlos Gonzalez (OF) CLE - Apr. 14

The Indians selected Gonzalez's contract from Triple-A Columbus ahead of Sunday's game against the Royals. He'll start in left field and bat third in the series finale.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The addition of Gonzalez will result in Hanley Ramirez dropping out of the lineup, but Tyler Naquin could be at more risk of surrendering his everyday role now that the former Rockie is up with the big club.

Carlos Gonzalez (OF) CLE - Mar. 22

Gonzalez won't break camp with the Indians, Paul Hoynes of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Gonzalez signed a minor-league deal with the Indians last week, and he simply won't have enough time to get up to speed before the start of the season. The veteran outfielder is scheduled to DH in a pair of minor-league games Saturday and Sunday, and if everything goes as planned, he could be ready to debut by mid-April (his contract contains an April 20 opt-out).

Oh, we all have.  But I have to fight my tendency to go an extra buck for a guy who's older, and more "proven," even when the downward path is RIGHT THERE.

I've noticed that. But the Cargo we all know and loved when he was on our team is no longer in Colorado. Even the right links can be misleading.

the mlb, fangraphs and Prospectus links for Gonzalez all take you the wrong guy.

Errant 2015 stats removed.

I had him as an R2, but changed him to $9 in the program.

You've never err'd young before and been burned?  I have ...

Also, hard to believe CarGo got so many ABs in Rookie ball in 2015 :-)

I'm making a concerted effort this year to err young, not old, but I'm tempted.

I can no longer make him an R2. But I won't be bidding to Peter and Mike's current bids. I suspect they won't either.
