Gary is correct about the Guardians TV team. Boring. Vanilla voices. The G men and their voices had me asleep in my chair last night. I've got the MLB app with audio, so tonight I will turn down the TV and listen to Tom Hamilton.

Mets announcer Gary Cohen thinks that when the Guardians play the Angels Curtis Sliwa ought to throw out the first pitch. Better than having him as Mayor of NYC I suppose.

Spiders would have been great on so many levels.

I refuse to call them the Guardians. It's a stupid name. I'm sticking with Spiders.

I find the Guardians TV guys to be very vanilla and boring, but Tom Hamilton on radio is one of the best in the biz.
Apr 26
Agree! The Guardians guys are so bad I turn the sound of when I watch a condensed game.

If you're going to purposefully listen to John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman, Beltran must be REALLY bad.
But for worst AL TV announcers, I'll go with the guys from Cleveland.

Speaking of broadcasters (Darvish thread) both Cameron Maybin and Carlos Beltran recently made their YES debuts.
Maybin's going to be good, I think. Aside from some tics (the word "again", said again and again) he sounded fresh and had a sense of humor and brought some insights to the table.
Beltran? He was the broadcasting equivalent of that old Joe Montana SNL skit. I started wondering if he was asleep. All cliche all the time, and when Cone asked him whose voice he'd want for Pitchcom, he couldn't even come up with a name.
Yesterday, with Cone absent, it was just Kay and Beltran. For Carlos' next 33 games, I'll put WFAN on the audio.
