This roundtable at mlb.com says "Yes" ...
Highest OPS+, min. 1,000 career games at catcher:
Mike Piazza: 143
Buster Posey: 129
Mickey Cochrane: 129
Bill Dickey: 127

With an OPS+ of 140 in 2021, Posey put in the fourth-best hitting season to end a career since the Second World War.
Also ... ranks 10th all-time in catcher bWAR at his seven-year peak.
On the other hand ... Bill Freehan was an 11-time all star, five-time gold glove winner, a world champion, had 200 home runs and 1,600 hits, and had more RBI (758-721), and he’s not even close to making it to the Hall of Fame.
Also ... Looks like he hit .252 (57 for 226) overall in the postseason with only 5 home runs with a paltry .345 slugging percentage.
And ... I like this bottom line: Congratulations to a class act on and off the field.

I've been a Buster fan since his incredible career at Florida St ... RoY ... 1 MVP (2 other seasons Top 10) ... a batting title ... 3 rings! That's some resume! And ... I think he's chosen to not be a Hall of Famer ...
Obviously I'm very OK if he gets in ... and I really don't have any feel for if he will or not ... I'm OK with a "small hall" ... and I'd like for Dale Murphy to be in ... and I know that doesn't make sense ... but there's more guys in that I think should be out than guys who are out that I wish were in.
I wonder if Harold Baines is a bit embarrassed to be a HoFer?

Any opinions on his odds of getting in the Hall?

A look back at John Sickels' crystal ball for Buster ... good stuff!

BREAKING NEWS: Sources tell The Athletic that Buster Posey will announce his retirement tomorrow. More to come...

But if it's just WS appearances that are considered, it's Yogi's, not Posey's, that are cheapened. Two of 16 teams played in the World Series back then.

These type of playoff stats are kind of BS. You can only compare the WC era to the WC era, the LDS era to the LDS era, the LCS era to the LCS era, and the pre-expansion era to itself as well. Yogi Berra only caught in the WS. He's not comparable in the least to Posey, unless it's only Posey's WS appearances considered.

Tonight was the 14th time Buster Posey was the starting catcher in a game his team won via shutout, which was already by far the most of any catcher in postseason history: Buster Posey: 14 Yadier Molina: 8 Yogi Berra: 7 (h/t @EliasSports )
I'm a Buster Posey fan ... even since his days as Florida St ... what a resume!
