Bryce Ball (1B) ATL - Jul. 09

The Braves added Ball to their 60-man roster pool Thursday.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Ball is unlikely to crack the Braves' Opening Day roster and isn't expected to see big-league action at any point in 2020, but he'll at least give Atlanta another option at first base during summer camp while Freddie Freeman (illness) remains away from the team following a positive COVID-19 test. A 24th-round pick out of Dallas Baptist in the 2019 first-year player draft, Ball made quite the impression in his first half-season of professional ball. Between stops at rookie-level Danville and Low-A Rome, Ball slugged 17 home runs and slashed .329/.395/.628 in 263 plate appearances.

No. 4 on BA's list of Late-Round Picks in 2019 to Keep an Eye on.

"... The Dallas Baptist product earned the MVP award in the Appalachian League and ranked as the leagues No.15 prospect after hitting .324/.410/.676 with 13 home runs in 41 games."

Drafted in the 24th round.

It's a safe bet that prospects one through14 in the Appy League were drafted earlier, most likely much earlier.
