Interesting ... BB Reference has Harper at:
2014 1.1 WAR
2015 10.0 WAR
2016 1.5
2017 4.3
2018 1.3
His OPS+ for the 3 down years were 111, 114, and 133.

??? Fangraphs has Harper bottoming out at 1.6 in 2014, but rebounding to 9.6 in 2015. Otherwise never below 3.0, with a career WAR of 30.7 at age 26. Corbin's career WAR is 15.9, and only 9.6 before last year. And he is 29.
I wish Corbin had failed that physical...

Did you know he has posted a WAR of 1.5 or less in 3 of the last 5 seasons?
One thing seems clear from the metrics ... you probably shouldn't have Bryce Harper and Juan Soto in the same OF, unless you have someone the caliper of a young Andruw Jones playing in between them.

I was just placing him into my 2019 price sheet for RDRL/PCL. Although I doubt it will matter since I expect him to sign with the AL.

The salary drive continues. A very patient salary drive: 2-for-3 in the double-header sweep of the Cubs with five walks. In the seventh inning of game two Justin Wilson quickly regretted pitching to him.
The game-winning homer pushed his batting average over .250. But who cares about batting average? Not next year's prospective employers.
I mean, those of us in the PCL care. But in real life?
Real GMs are going to be looking at his BABIP, G/L/F and K percent. Then they are going to click on the MLB link and look at his Statcast averages.
Okay, it's possible real GMs don't come to this site, but if they did.

Three hits last night, eight in his last three games. Slashing .397/.494/.735 in the last three weeks.
A salary drive.

The spray chart at Fangraphs shows eight of his homers going to left and left center.

From Rotoworld:
08.14: Bryce Harper ripped his 30th home run of the season on Tuesday in St. Louis.(It won't go down as one of Harper's more majestic blasts, as it was an opposite-field shot that just cleared the wall and barely stayed fair, but he'll take it. He's gone deep in two straight games and five times already this month. It's the second time in his career that Harper has reached the 30-homer plateau.)

I was envisioning a month ago him getting dealt to Cleveland for Mejia ... then Mejia went for a couple bullpen arms.
