First PCL trade ... McCann(25)+Hinske (who cares, he'll be cut by Tuesday) for Ramos (9) and Hanson (25).

Yes, NSH "wins" the trade, but I needed a 20+ homer guy to get out of the cellar in HRs/RBIs and this is a guy I like at $25.

Ironic. May attempt to fix auction brain cramp in overdoing C. Unfortunately not to get OF but SP which I think I also need.

Scrambling isn't the word for what I felt. I literally bought big ticket players (votto, Reyes and kemp) so I wouldn't have to rely on dealing with the faster mid range player bidding. It wasn't a strategy, it was survival. Would have paid to have done it before. The mock draft wasn't enough.

I'm a fast typist, which helps. If you do type instead of using the +1 feature, it does make it harder to do things like track stats or other people's money as you're auctioning.

Didn't feel like there was time to type in a bid into a box and then click on the button ...

But I guess if you really do have and know your "max bid", then that's the way to go ... type that "max bid" in and play it safe.

I guess ideally there'd be a way to type in the "max bid" but have it only do "+1" up to that point ... kinda like what eBay does. I didn't see a way to do that ... but once the auction started, there wasn't much time to experiment ...

I think CBS still does the "mock auctions" ... I'd be up for joining a group that wants to do one of those next week (I need to decompress this weekend :-)).

The +1 button is evil. Never, ever, press the +1 button.

In all of the CBS auctions I've done, there is also an option to manually enter your bid. I always do this and never use the +1 feature.

Wow ... that voice was coming from the draft software? I thought that was just in my head.

Feeling a lot better about my sanity now.
