The thing I've noticed with Bannister is that he gets on these runs during which he's excellent. And then someone writes about what a student of pitching and sabremetrics he is, and then he blows up. It has to be coincidence, but notable.

As is his extreme day/night split. Two of his next three starts are day games, by the way, the ones you want.

Nine of his 15 starts have been Quality Starts. What manager wouldn't take that?

He's a better pitcher in leagues where you can shuttle him in and out of your line-up.

One of the most knowledgeable pitchers on component statistics. His pitching, though, is all over the map. Endgame only.
