Well, not much has changed.  He will wind up ALMOST in double-digits, it appears, and we can bring him back for a buck.  But we can't count on him.  He's got to be our 4th or 5th guy.

Below, in February, I commented that there were worse places to put a dollar.

And $1 is what we put on him.  So far, so good . . . . it seems impossible that he's only 31.

Pen let both runners score. Glad I don't.

Leaves the game up 2-0 in the seventh against the Rays in Tampa, one out, two on.

He's a pleasure to watch if you don't own him, nerve-wracking if you do. I don't.

Win No. 5 last night. 5.1 IP, 5 hits, no walks, one strikeout, one run. Three of 51 pitches for strikes swung at and missed. The last of the Mohicans.

I jinxed him in the Matt Shoemaker thread.  Departed with a twisted ankle.

Brett Anderson (P) OAK - Mar. 25

Anderson fired six scoreless innings in an exhibition win over the Giants on Sunday, allowing three hits and a walk while recording three strikeouts.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Anderson's final tuneup for the regular season could hardly have gone better, as the veteran was dominant while regularly flummoxing a Giants lineup stuffed with regulars.

Brett Anderson (P) OAK - Mar. 7

Anderson, the Athletics' projected No. 4 starter, allowed two earned runs hits and a hit batsman over 3.1 innings in a 7-4 Cactus League win over the Mariners on Wednesday. He struck out two.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Anderson's one major gaffe came on a 2-1  to the hot-hitting Domingo Santana, who launched the offering for a solo  The veteran southpaw was sharper in his first spring start Feb. 28, against the Cubs courtesy of a three-inning scoreless outing in which he just two hits and a walk while recording three strikeouts. Anderson was an addition to the rotation last season in the wake of injuries to Jharel Cottonand Sean Manaea (shoulder), and with both pitchers still firmly on the mend, he projects for an extended run as a starter again this season.
