I'm working on Big Prices for the Guide. Today I have Brett Anderson with a price of $2. What do you think?

I didn't drop him and he pitched well last night but didn't get the win.

Giolito and Borucki also were outsanding. Between them: 22 IP, 8 hits, 4 walks, one earned run. And a win. A precious win.

The win gained me half a point. Two would have gained me a full point. Three would have gained me another point.

The great innings? Nothing.

Moved the ERA needle from 4.65 to 4.56. Still dead last.

Let's not even talk about WHIP.

But the two teams ahead of me in ERA are at 4.42. Maybe...

No, no. Don't even think about that. Keep going for the wins.

Tomorrow it's two pitchers going against each other. Yefry Gomez and Martin Perez.

See what I mean?

If I'm lucky I'll get a win.

All formats except 4x4, AL-only, you are already distant last in ERA and WHIP.

Even so, I may have to drop him today. Don't want to miss Brian Johnson's start.

Brett Anderson (P) OAK - Jul. 14

Anderson allowed three earned runs on eight hits and no walks while striking out one across 3.1 innings Saturday against the Giants. He did not factor into the decision.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Anderson allowed three extra-base hits, none of which were home runs -- with all three baserunners eventually coming around to score. Otherwise, it was a fairly typical outing from Anderson as he didn't induce many strikeouts -- he generated just two swinging strikes -- but got six of the 10 outs he recorded via the groundball. He has managed to pitch six innings only one time in six starts this season and has a 6.08 ERA and 1.86 WHIP through 23.2 innings. That makes him a pitcher to avoid in nearly all formats.

The weatherman huffed and puffed, trying to bail me out, but finally the game was played, and Brett Anderson against Luis Severino is simply no contest. Score is 4-1 after five, and I don't know about Brett but I'm hoping he doesn't come out for the sixth. I mean, let's be realistic.

I also was impressed by his AAA numbers and reached into my depleted piggy bank to the tune of $4 for him yesterday.

By our rules, I can drop him before his next outing this week (as long as I have somebody on the reserve list to replace him with and I do). His next outing is this Sunday. In Yankee Stadium. Against Severino.

Why don't a just drop him right now, today? An innocuous middle reliever might get a win or at least chip in with few solid innings.

I can't. If I keep him until Monday I can put him on reserve.

Maybe there will be a rain out on Sunday.

Being added to the A's rotation. 25/2 K/BB in 19 innings at AAA. You know starting pitching is hard to come by in "only" leagues when you're taking a long look at Brett Anderson.
