I bought him for $2. He was my top $1 list pitcher but someone else brought him up so I had to go $2.

Three of his four starts have been quality starts though seven innings; the start that wasn't was in Colorado.

I was able to catch most of his start yesterday, and while the K rates are down, he has shown solid command of his pitches. I bought him for $4 in my home NL-Only because I felt like I could take a flier and so far he looks pretty good.

Peter's comments below are spot on.

Hey, better!

Here's how I mark it. If you need a starter and pitching, get on it. Be aggressive, but don't go way overboard. He's not the savior. He's had the skills when healthy to be good, but too much injury history to rely on.

More Reverend Ike than Jesus, in other words.

What does 7 shutout with 7 Ks do for his price today?

A signing that could pay big dividends.
