That's a high BABIP - but that's also a high line drive percentage, and in the Giants games I've watched lately he's just been consistently on the ball. His hard hit contact rate is a career high ... but his pull rate is about 10% below his career norms.
Hitting the ball hard in all directions is a good way to have a high BABIP in today's defensive shift era. And while Crawford's BABIP pulling the ball (.340) and hitting it straight-away (.336) are moderately high, when hitting to the opposite field he's been out of this world (.512 BABIP).

Very good. Fascinating stuff about that flip to third.

He's a Dubs fan ... who isn't, in the Bay Area. And a good blog writer ...

On one hand, that .379 BABIP is high ... otoh, a 28% line drive rate is a new thing for him.

And with his 4 for 4 day yesterday ... he's now up to .290 as of today.

A .537 OPS and .189 BA a couple weeks ago - but his 3rd 3 hit game in his last 10 now has him back to a normal Brandon Crawford season.

Playing SS is hard on you ... and playing SS for a team that's in the tank must make for a really loooong season. With the better lineup around him I could easily see Crawford back to being a $20 player.

Fangraphs' profile of Crawford in Runs Above (or Below) Average:
Off: -11.5
Def: 13.2
BsR: -1.3
I did this for Iglesias on his page. And asked the question, Is it an accurate description of their skills?
If so, the statement being made is that Crawford and Iglesias are quite similar. Even though the stats that we show, focusing on the player's worth to us, are quite different.
