If Billy Wags wanted to be in the Hall of Fame, he should have kept pitching!

I'm just kidding, but I think Baseball-Reference misses the boat here. The most remarkable thing about Wagner's career is his final season.

This is Billy Wagner's 7th year on the ballot, hoping to improve on a personal best of 46.4% of the vote received last year. Over the course of a 16-year career. Wagner established himself as perhaps the most dominant lefty reliever in the history of the game. His 187 ERA+ towers over any other LHP with 500+ career pitching appearances and his 27.8 WAR is second only to John Hiller among lefties who were primarily relief pitchers.
