Austin Meadows (OF) TB - Jun. 03

https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=782578

Meadows went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, five RBI and two runs in Thursday's 9-2 win over the Yankees.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Meadows has been dominant at the plate recently, and he now has four multi-hit performances in his last seven games. He propelled the Rays' offense in Thursday's win with his pair of extra-base hits. During his current seven-game hit streak, Meadows has gone 11-for-25 with five home runs, 15 RBI and nine runs.

Clearly the braintrust in Tampa, leaving no stone unturned, reads the comments here every day.  Soon after my post on May 5, Meadows was moved down in the batting order. In his last 16 games he's driven in 19 runs.

Shouldn't he be hitting lower in the lineup? The cleanup hitter, Joey Wendle, has the same OBP.

Keeping him at $21.  My partner blanched when we bought him in 2019 at that price (we put our league on ice last year).

What does "24 in Tout" mean?  I'm seeing that Tout has multiple games ...

Bought Meadows both in CBS AL (26) and in the CBS Head to Head (17th OF - same price as Trent Grisham?)

24 in Tout.  Seems to be some scepticism out there.

$26 in CBS. They agreed with Peter about the mulligan.

Peter reminds us (in the comment below for subscribers) that Meadows began the season out to pasture with Covid.

"He's young enough he should be given a mulligan for his aimless 2020 season."

If we look at the top five launch angles that I listed in the Anthony Santander thread from the point of view of HR/FB, here's what we see.

Joey Gallo 16.7%

Anthony Santander 17.5%

Rhys Hoskins 17.9%

Austin Meadows 8.9%

Will Smith 17.4%

Meadows is the outlier. He hit many fly balls, few of which reached the seats.
