The future could be now for the Mets. If it isn't, the future is still looking pretty good. Keith Law's take, from his air-conditioned office at ESPN, on the group of players who continue to play their home games in Port St. Lucie:

The Mets' system is loaded top to bottom, with Las Vegas also boasting a handful of top prospects, but St. Lucie is the team you want to see assuming you can stand the humidity. The lineup will have their last two first-round picks, 2014's Michael Conforto in left field and 2013's Dominic Smith at first base, both very polished left-handed hitters, with Conforto advanced enough that I thought an assignment to Double-A was warranted. They'll be joined by shortstop Amed Rosario, signed in 2012 for the largest bonus the Mets had ever given to a Latin American amateur player, a potential superstar who might solve the hole the major league club has had since Jose Reyes left. Jhoan Urena is a minor sleeper at third base, with a good idea at the plate to go with his bat speed and power, while the pitching staff doesn't have any elite prospects but has several power arms, led by low-slot right-hander Marcos Molina and Virgin Islands native Akeel Morris.
