The Monkey, thumping his chest. (Not to say he shouldn't.)

Milwaukee Brewers — We told you Alex Wilson was next in line for the Brewers. So we predicted a vulture save for him Wednesday. And he got it. By the way, here’s who four of our “competitors” have in that next-in-line spot this morning: Matt Albers, Junior Guerra, and (on two sites) the injured Jeremy Jeffress. Hierarchies change fast. If you like having them right, well, you’re in the right place. (So keep in mind that Jeffress could be back very soon.)

Hierarchy remains: Hader | Wilson | Barnes.

I wonder what he signed for with the Brewers?

Alex Wilson (P) MIL - Mar. 22

Wilson agreed to a major-league deal with the Brewers on Friday, Robert Murray of The Athletic reports.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Wilson opted out of his minor-league deal with the Indians on Wednesday after being informed he would not make the Opening Day roster. The 32-year-old enjoyed a solid spring and is coming off a season in which he posted a 3.36 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 43:15 K:BB over 61.2 innings with Detroit. Wilson will likely slot into a middle relief role as the Brewers need the additional bullpen depth with Corey Knebel (elbow) and Jeremy Jeffress (shoulder) set to miss the start of the season.

Will be in camp with the Indians. $1.25 million if he makes the team. Earned $1.925 million last year. ERA+ 1.31, B-R WAR 1.2, ERC 2.78

It has to be said, though, that FIP, SIERA and xERA (3.99) -- three other component ERAs -- did not help his agent.

I like to imagine an arbiter trying to choose between ERC and FIP.
