Moral of the story: Don't wink at the camera in the first inning.

The even more brash Bregman.

“We knew this morning when we woke up, we’re going to be watching football tomorrow.”

Describing Gerrit Cole: "He's got every pitch in every quadrant."

That's the perspective from third base. From home plate:  “That pitching staff the Rays have, that ball looks tiny and it’s coming in hot and it is moving everywhere.’’

Did he storm to the AL MVP in the last week (slashing .368/.538/.789)?

We'll see, but he did enough to win the WAR.

Bregman's mom, after he hits a two-run homer, before he hits a three-run homer: "Actually I would prefer a grand slam, so I'm a little disappointed right now."

Only 18,000 in the seats at Estadio de Beisbol, but at least 9,000 wore orange jerseys as the alleged visiting team pounded the Angels in Monterey. Bregman led the onslaught with a single and two homers, driving in four, and afterwards led the cheers for the fans.

"For me it's the second time in Mexico. I played in Lagos de Moreno, when I was 15, I also have played in Colombia and Cuba. The fans have so much fun out there, the atmosphere was great, every play felt like it was the playoffs. The fans showed their love for the game. We were blessed to play in front of a crowd like that."

I'm an Astros fan living in the Houston area but I'd say yes to that deal.  And then have the option to trade Yates midseason if the Padres aren't competitive.

NL Only + Astros 10 team league 5x5.I am the defending champ. I did lose most if not all of my good pitching including DeGrom $20...I have to rebuild my pitching staff. Chacin $1 and Stripling $10 are my P keepers.  I am leaning NO on the trade proposal(w/2nd place team and strong again) because Bregman is coming off offseason arth surgery. We are in Houston an its hard for me to pass on Alex B.

Ah, so I misunderstood. Well, that makes the cheese more binding. It does seem to favor a deal if you can win this year, but not if you you're building, in which case a $21 Baez is probably a good asset. But maybe we should ask how big a league this is?
