Was slashing .255/.330/.417 for the Orix Buffaloes on October 1 when Alex Vigderman wrote a short entry on Asian baseball for the Handbook.

Give him a pitch in his wheelhouse, and Adam Jones can still hit the ball a long way.https://twitter.com/JCoskrey/status/1280851915820003329

I just saw it as I was wandering through Twitter and thought of you, Eugene. That sound of bat meeting ball is soooo sweet.

Thanks Tim.  I know he's lost a step and probably should have been a RF for the Birds for the last 3-5 years instead of CF, but he always was a fun player to watch and respected the game.  He also suffered a lot of abuse from fans outside of Baltimore and kept much of it inside. It was only the most egregious things - like a thrown beer can - that made the news.  I hope he enjoys the cultural experience of playing in Japan.  I know he will enjoy the game.

He's not coming back to MLB, having signed a two year deal in Japan, but that doesn't mean I won't still follow him.  2-3 with a double in his debut for the Orix Buffaloes.  If you take your glasses off and ignore the colors, it could read Baltimore on the front of his jersey.

I have a feeling nobody's going to use racial slurs against him like he experienced in at least Boston and Toronto.
