The swing and miss rates are what have changed - nearly cut in half from last year's small sample size.

Maybe Alan Cockrell is the next Charlie Lau?

How is it that he was so so-so in Triple-A last year? What changed?

He's the other guy (see Zimmerman comment) I was dead wrong about.

The HR/FB rate isn't going to stay at 54.2 percent but the contact rate makes him a good bet to keep that rate relatively high even when the law of averages catches up to Judge.

Only bad launch angles (none and negative on the two balls he's smoked) have kept the ball in the park, so far, on a windy day in Wrigley.

The YES announcers passed along an amazing stat. Judge has hit nine balls (not counting today) with an exit velocity of 115 mph or higher. No other batter in the majors has hit more than two.

THE LINEUP

Newsmakers from Tuesday's action:

Aaron Judge, rf, Yankees.
Speaking of winning jobs, has Judge done enough to wrest the right
field job from Aaron Hicks? The 6-foot-7 outfielder hit his third homer
Tuesday in a loss to the Tigers. This spring, Judge is 18-for-55. More
importantly, Judge, who struck out 42 times in 84 at-bats in his big
league debut, has struck out just 12 times this spring.

Just hosed a runner at the plate. He moves better than you might think.

Surely the biggest fly on the first day of games. Measured at 450 feet when it landed, the hang time was even more impressive.

Crazy me.  I have the Guide, but I only used digital sources for my rankings (oh, and the Forecaster, which I don't actually own).

Got him for $5 in CBS yesterday. Was exposed last year after his call-up, but I do like the power upside.
