Went for $20 yesterday in a 5x5 AL keeper league. Shandler has been high on him for at least two years, but i didn't chase him based mainly on what I had read here. Felt better to get Borowski at $18.
Had one more OF spot to fill and I picked him up for $12 in a 5x5 AL keeper league. It might have had something to do w/ the fact that my sister-in-law taught him in junior high and says he was a nice kid. She has never been a good judge of baseball talent, but I figure the bid was worth it for someone who is 24 and should get all the ABs in RF for OAK.
I took him for $28 in a 5x5 AL keeper league. The move to LAA is neutral power wise, but bear in mind he went through shoulder and hamstring problems in the 2nd half last year. I don't see any reason for a decline.
Went for (to me) $24 in a 5x5 AL keeper league. Speed is damned expensive and I can't see him scoring less than 100 runs again. Whatever problems NYY may have, scoring runs won't be among them.
Sickles loves Lowrie. He ranks him much higher than BA, BP, or Keith Law in their top 100s. I decided to take him in my reserve draft ahead of other players who were higher ranked overall because he's closer to the bigs and I think Sickles is better than the other sources. We will see.
Went for $15 in an AL-only keeper league that's been around for 21 years. I went to $12 and settled for Travis Buck at $12 a few players later for my last OF.
Speaking of Rolen pessimism, I got him for $7 in one league and $3 in the other (one draft 3/29 the other 3/30). In those leagues Scutaro went for $4 and $3 respectively. I have Callaspo and Willy Aybar as replacements in the two lineups and prefer both to Scutaro.
The collective "we," I mean. I like Marco, and my partner Dollar loves Marco, but not at this price. When someone said $1, we said $2, and then our jaws dropped.
More a case of deep pessimism about Rolen, I'm pretty sure, than irrational exuberance about Marco Scutaro.
Clete Thomas sure looked happy today after his first major league hit. No cheap-o for him either; a clean, opposite-field double where he went the other way against a tough offering by Joakim Soria.
Did NLers discount closers the way we did yesterday in the American Dreams (highest price paid, with inflation: $29 for Papebon)? If so, Gagne's not going to reach $10 next weekend. He looked horrible today.

His two SB's tonight were easy (albeit off Weaver and his slow delivery).
Owners will pay for a 35-40 SB season based on the speed he showed tonight.

If you grabbed Shoppach for a buck, this could be a very nice play if this injury hinders V-Mart in April and beyond.
