Hamilton's injury status means that Bautista should be the top A.L. bargain this year...and it's not even going to be close.

The major league home run leader... halfway to 100 walks at the halfway point... plays two tough positions no worse and perhaps better than Vernon Wells plays center field... if there's an undeserving Blue Jay on the All-Star team, it's not Bautista.

I've got no problem with him being on the All-Star team. Forget the average and focus on what really matters - this guy has the fourth best outfield OPS in the American League. Okay, his defense isn't good and obviously we're just seen the three best months of his life and you can come up with alternate picks that make sense, but I hear some scribes screaming bloody murder over the Bautista pick and I don't agree with that. I also don't mind seeing this type of player on the All-Star team. Not everyone agrees. |

He was kept at $1 in my league and his owner couldn't give him away. He's also got J. Buck, Rios, and traded Morales right before his injury and is romping to the tune of a 25 HR lead.

He was kept in my league for $3 and Garza was tossed back for $24 by the same owner. Everyone said, Bautista is a dime a dozen type, but Garza was the 3rd best starter available and went for $30 w/ inflation. While Garza has turned a nice profit at $24, Bautista is in another category altogether.

Absolutely!. Watching him over the final two months of last year the first thought was that "maybe this guy has figured something out". He was definitely worth keeping an eye on come spring. And, he carried it forward there too. So why did I pay 13 for Peralta's certain mediocrity as opposed to Bautista's (10) "might have figured it out"? No guts, no glory.

Yes, a few of the Blue Jays are playing over their heads, but I see no reason to expect less from Jose Bautista at this point than a 35 homer, 110 RBI season. He might have a 150 whiffs but he also might have a 100 walks. He's figured something out.

Slyke's buddy actually owns Bautista. I tried to get him this winter, but his 3B eligibility made his price a little too rich for my blood. Slyke's buddy has Bautista and Buck. He's running away with HR/RBI, obviously. |

Well played, Slyke & Mike G. This lineup is a riot right now; they swing early and at everything, but they hit a lot of gaps and seats, too. You'd think pitchers would adjust and make them pay for this approach, but it hasn't hapenned yet. |

The move to third base and to the sixth spot in the lineup seemed to agree with him.
