The strikeouts aren't a major concern unless you need him to hit .320. He walks, he runs, he hits the ball hard and he plays 2B this year.

For a skinny kid he hit a bunch of real home runs, not Bucky Dent jobs.

Screwing around with him for two years to learn from Elijah Dukes and not play against real teams was criminal in a baseball sense. Is he the best fantasy player in the AL? No. But the AL has very few people in his way.

I don't think he will be the highest earner in the AL, at least not this year.

"Does that mean he will or will not be the highest earner in the AL?"

The words are clues... if I knew the answer to that I certainly wouldn't be posting my thoughts on Alex's message board!

You look at the skills, you look at the age, you look at the competition (the top tiers of AL-only are looking thinner of late) and Upton busting out Hanley Ramirez style wouldn't surprise me in the least. (The problem is everyone else is prorating his '07 stats over a full year and bidding accordingly.)

Again I agree with Jurgen. Being able to use him at 2B and OF gives him some added value but I'm not sold on him being this big this quick. I feel like he'll take a small step back before he becomes a dominate player. Only 129 games and 474 AB's makes him interesting but the 2.5-1 K to BB Ratio makes me think this year might be a year in the red if you were to bid up to $35.

"There's a non-zero chance he's the biggest earner in the AL this year."

Does that mean he will or will not be the highest earner in the AL?
